The Role
We’re looking for an energetic, camera-comfortable content creator to conduct MOS (“man-on-the-street”) style interviews and produce short-form video content for TikTok and Instagram. This is a hands-on, full-cycle role — you’ll be shooting, interviewing, and editing, not just one piece of the puzzle.
Responsibilities
Conduct MOS-style street/community interviews with pregnant and postpartum individuals, providers, and community members on maternal health topics
Shoot short-form video content (TikTok, Instagram Reels) using a phone or basic camera setup
Edit raw footage into polished, engaging short-form videos with captions, music, and pacing suited for social algorithms
Collaborate with the founder/leadership team on content themes, scripts, and interview questions
Post and manage content calendars across BirthUp’s social platforms
Attend local events, pop-ups, or community meetups to capture real-time content
Qualifications
Current student or recent graduate (Communications, Media, Film, Marketing, Public Health, or related field preferred)
Comfortable approaching strangers and conducting interviews on camera
Experience with video editing software (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar)
Strong understanding of TikTok/Instagram content trends and short-form storytelling
Interest in maternal health, women’s health, or healthcare startups is a plus
Reliable, organized, and able to work independently on a content schedule
Must be comfortable traveling locally within New Jersey for shoots
