Position Overview
The Quality Improvement Intern will support Bridgeway’s Quality Improvement (QI) Department in activities that enhance service quality, compliance, and organizational effectiveness. Under the supervision of the Quality Improvement Manager, the intern will assist with data collection, documentation review, project coordination, and other QI tasks that promote a culture of wellness, recovery, and continuous improvement. This position is ideal for students or early-career professionals interested in behavioral health, program evaluation, data analysis, compliance, or organizational development.
Essential Job Functions
- Use person-first, recovery-oriented language in all communication and documentation.
- Provide high-quality customer service to staff and program teams; respond promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a culture of compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, confidentiality standards, and ethical guidelines.
Quality Improvement Responsibilities
The intern will support the QI Manager with tasks such as:
Quality Improvement & Data Support
- Assist in rapid-cycle quality improvement projects (e.g., tracking MBC trends, supporting team performance dashboards).
- Help collect, enter, and analyze program evaluation data to support improvements in access to care and service delivery.
- Support preparation of reports, including sections of the annual management report.
- Assist with preparing audit materials.
- Help analyze critical incident data to identify trends and risk factors.
Administrative & Documentation Support
- Assist in organizing QI documents, folders, and datasets in shared drives (e.g., SharePoint & H Drive).
- Support coordination of incident reporting workflows, ensuring forms are complete and routed properly.
- Help track grievance logs and ensure documentation is filed accurately.
- Assist with coordinating and preparing materials for staff trainings (Documentation, Clinical Skills, AMSR, Talk Saves Lives).
Committee Support
Provide administrative support for QI Committee meetings and subcommittees (Incident Reporting, Mortality, Outcomes, Safety, Staff Development), including:
- Scheduling meetings
- Preparing agendas
- Taking minutes
- Tracking follow-up tasks
Training & Onboarding Support
- Help prepare materials for new hire orientation related to incident reporting, crisis management, fire safety, and infection control.
Other Duties
- Perform other QI-related tasks as assigned.

Skills & Abilities
