About the Healthcare Internship (Great Pay):

The CareYaya Healthcare Internship offers hands-on, direct-care experience for students pursuing careers in medicine, nursing, physician associate, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other health professions. You’ll work one-on-one with older adults and patients living with dementia, Parkinson’s, cancer, stroke recovery, and other chronic conditions — providing companionship, support, and non-medical care that’s both meaningful and clinically relevant.
This is not an observer-only role. You’ll learn how to communicate with empathy, adapt to diverse needs, and navigate real patient interactions — while earning competitive pay and building a resume that stands out for healthcare schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and non-medical assistance to elders in home-based settings.
- Assist with activities of daily living (e.g., walking, eating, medication reminders, cognitive games).
- Support patients with dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and other conditions through gentle engagement and presence.
- Help families better understand the caregiving process and document changes in patient behavior or wellbeing.
- Reflect on patient experiences and participate in peer discussion groups or mentorship calls (optional).
Ideal Candidates
- Undergraduate or post-bacc students pursuing pre-med, pre-PA, pre-nursing, PT/OT, or public health paths.
- Compassionate, responsible, and eager to learn from real-world patient experience.
- Strong interest in elder care, dementia care, or chronic disease management.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- No prior certification required — full training provided.
