Studio Zung is an architectural, interior, and design firm with two locations, one in Soho, Manhattan, with a satellite studio in the Hamptons, and one in Paris, France. The Design & Studio Intern will support our interdisciplinary team of designers, thinkers, and problem solvers as we realize many architectural and interior projects globally and aid in the operations of our design concept gallery, Shop Zung.
Z Builders Associates is a team of construction managers, architects, and craftsmen dedicated to creating the most beautiful and thoughtfully designed homes and renovations. Job Description:
The Design & Studio Intern is ideal for someone passionate about interiors who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to learn the ins and outs of a dynamic studio that blends design, retail, and brand storytelling.
As our intern, you’ll support our design team with sourcing, concept development, and project coordination while also playing a key role in daily studio operations, customer order fulfillment, and content creation for our storefront and social media channels.
This is a multifaceted role perfect for someone who loves beautiful spaces, appreciates well-curated details, and is excited to grow in a creative business environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Interior Design & Architecture Support
- Assist with sourcing finishes, materials, furnishings, and architectural products.
- Assist with creating and updating mood boards, concept boards, and visual presentations.
- Help with drafting layout sketches or basic CAD drawings.
- Participate in site visits for measurements, installs, and photography.
- Support sample library organization, returns, and vendor communication.
- Assist in tracking project timelines, deliveries, and order lead times.
- Maintain and update digital and physical project files.
- Prepare and organize invoices, purchase orders, and receipts.
Housekeeping & Studio Maintenance
- Keep the studio and storefront clean, organized, and guest-ready.
- Maintain the cleanliness of workspaces, common areas, and the kitchenette.
- Organize and replenish material samples, lookbooks, and catalogs.
- Style showroom vignettes and keep the retail space visually appealing.
- Manage trash/recycling, water plants, and help with general upkeep.
- Order office/studio supplies and maintain daily studio tidiness.
Storefront / Shop Fulfillment
- Package and ship online and in-store orders promptly.
- Restock shelves and rotate merchandise displays.
- Keep inventory accurate and up-to-date using shop systems.
- Assist walk-in customers with product questions and purchases.
- Process returns, exchanges, and order follow-ups with care.
- Maintain accurate records of sales and inventory levels, and prepare regular reports for management.
- Ensure returned merchandise is restocked to the correct product location on the sales floor; label and place all damaged and defective merchandise appropriately.
- Prepare and update all store tagging, including prices and special promotions.
- Develop and implement visual merchandising strategies to enhance the in-store customer experience.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Pursuing a B.A. or relevant experience required.
- Strong skills in typographic design and information graphics.
- Able to stand and move about for extended periods with only short rest breaks; reach, bend, stoop, etc. to handle products.
- Available to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Solid organization and good time-management skills
- Detailed-oriented, and self-motivated
- Must work well within a varied team
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Organizes own work efforts.

Education
- Pursuing a BA in architecture, interior design, graphic design, marketing, business, or related field
