At International Business Times, you’ll gain insight into the fast-paced world of digital publishing and learn how a modern newsroom researches, develops and publishes stories for a global audience. IBTimes focuses on business, politics, technology, economics and culture, providing opportunities to explore a range of subjects and develop your editorial interests.
Depending on your interests and the needs of your host organization, your internship could involve researching stories, monitoring current events, developing article ideas, writing and editing content, fact-checking sources and supporting the digital publishing process.
You’ll also gain insight into the editorial standards that underpin professional journalism, including accuracy, fairness, transparency and responsible sourcing. IBTimes UK states that its journalists and editors undertake due diligence on sources and aim to provide readers with accurate, balanced information.

Cost and funding
Our program fees include your accommodation while you’re abroad and a range of exciting extras like social events within a vibrant community, career success coaching, and much more.
The fees for these services vary depending on your program type and start date, starting from $1,190 USD for our remote program and $2,990 USD for our in-person programs. You can easily explore detailed costs on our website – plus, we’ve got funding alternatives to help you plan.
Once accepted, you’ll need to secure your spot with a deposit equal to £800 in your destination’s currency. The rest of the program fee is split into two installments.
Many of our participants have offset their costs with scholarships or grants. If you’re a U.S. college student receiving a Pell Grant, you’re eligible for a $500 discount on our In-Person and Digital Nomad programs.

Start dates & time commitment

- In-person programs usually demand a full-time commitment for your internship (40 hours a week).
- Remote and Digital Nomad programs can be full-time (40 hours a week) or part-time (10, 20 or 30 hours a week).
