YALE RESEARCH ASSOCIATE / LAB MANAGER
The Hoffman Laboratory at Yale University is recruiting for a full-time research associate/lab manager position, available immediately.
The main goal of the Hoffman Laboratory is to gain new insights into the roles of genes associated with autism spectrum disorders at the molecular, cellular, and circuit levels to develop improved pharmacological treatments. To accomplish this, we use zebrafish CRISPR-generated mutants of autism risk genes to directly visualize the functions of these genes in the developing nervous system and to perform high-throughput behavior-based screens.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of zebrafish facility. Breed and genotype zebrafish to maintain genetic lines.
- General lab maintenance, including organizing databases, placing orders, maintaining stock solutions.
- Experimental duties include molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization.
- Conduct research, working with the principal investigator to plan, design, and perform experiments.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant scientific discipline and 2 years of experience.
2. Proficiency in molecular biology techniques.
3. Experience with microscopy and animal models is preferred.
4. Enthusiastic, highly motivated, excellent organizational skills.
